About the case study:
The Mark 14 project is one of the biggest failures in the history of the development of new weapons for the US Navy. This strategic project from the very beginning aimed to achieve conflicting goals (set by people with extremely different points of view), was implemented under the constraints of the Great Depression, and its stabilization came at the expense of the fleet elite during the hardships of wartime operations.
Like almost no other projects of the interwar period, it will have a huge impact on the functioning of the entire post-war US Navy and how future weapon systems will be developed in the USA.
